What our guests say
“We had a wonderful meal at Malabar Hut and thoroughly enjoyed every dish we ordered. The parottha, chicken roast, mutton biryani, pomfret fry, and chicken lollipops were all absolutely delicious and full of flavour. I rarely leave reviews unless a place is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, and in this case, it was definitely the former. Every dish was well prepared, fresh, and genuinely enjoyable. The food reminded us why authentic Kerala cuisine is so special. We'll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!”
“I recently visited Malabar Hut and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The food is definitely the highlight — authentic Kerala-style dishes with rich flavours, especially their biryani and seafood options. You can tell they focus on traditional recipes and quality ingredients, which really stands out. The service was generally good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, there is still some room for improvement in professionalism. During my visit, there were a few small mistakes with order-taking, which didn’t ruin the experience but could be handled more carefully. One thing worth noting is the space, particularly the restroom area. There seems to be only one toilet shared between male and female customers, and the area felt quite cramped. The wash basin is positioned very close, which makes it slightly uncomfortable during busy times. Improving this aspect would definitely enhance the overall dining experience. That said, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a welcoming vibe. With its strong food quality and decent service, it’s easy to see why it’s popular among customers. Overall: Great food and good service, but improvements in space management and order accuracy would make it even better.”
“Authentic, tasty food and great service at reasonable places. Very local dishes, authentically made. We had porotta, fish fry and fish curry meals. They specifically made the fish fry less spicy for the child. Portions were quite good too. A bit pricier than surrounding restaurants but very cheap by London standards. And there are no hidden service charges on top. Very nice experience overall.”
“After 6 long years, finally got to indulge in a complete Malabari feast—and it was absolutely worth the wait! From the rich and flavourful chicken dum biryani to the soft pathiri paired perfectly with beef, every dish was cooked to perfection. The chicken tandoori was juicy, the fish tawa was bursting with spice, and the drinks 🥤 ginger lime and sulaimani tea☕️were simply refreshing. Every bite carried deep, authentic base flavours, with perfectly cooked meat that just melted in the mouth. Truly a mouth-watering😋 nostalgic experience. Food, taste, and service—solid 10/10. ❤️”
“craved the mandi so had to come back! mandi was amazing like always 🤤 the chicken mandhis are definitely better than the beef rib manthi (beef is seasoned much more lightly. but super tender beef). my fav is kanthari + piri piri, both are soo good. try Arabic if you can't handle spice. I've tried the Afghani Mandi before and it's okay, but definitely the worst flavour out of the bunch. tried the chicken lollipops and they are so spicy & saucy and tasty! new fav starter! Afaan took our order, very kind server - shout out to him! thank you 🥰”
